For the first time this year I've given up on filling in the gaps in my diary. Quite a lot has happened in the past 3 weeks. I'll have to break it down into, probably, 3 categories. First of all work.
One Tuesday when I met Claire for a ski break, Bernie offered me a job - part time - at Ravens, starting the following Sunday. So I finished at Pharmasave - bought lots of stuff at cost and then one to Ravens. I've been there for 2 weeks now and the first week was quite shit as there is very definitely a "clique" and I hate being the new girl, but now it is fun. I get on well with everyone and most of the jobs are good. Claire does a couple of days a week up there too. I really enjoy it and get my ski pass and get gorgeous views most days. There's a BBQ up there too and I've done a few days on that. Some very tasty lifties!
Skiing. My days skiing have been good. Those lessons when I was 13 were worth it after all. Rob taught me one day and then I went with Claire the next. Then Al (!). I've had a problem with my legs though. My calves really hurt and after 2 runs I'm in agony and I need to go home.
Boarding - I went for my second day with Claire last Saturday - I rode Goofy before I went regular and can do one turn from toe to heel but not the other way. But it's coming. My legs hurt so much though. I downloaded into the village and shed my first tears outside of the UK. I was in so much pain I couldn't walk. I sat outside the gondola for 45 minutes trying to get my calves to work and eventually hobbled to the bus and from the bus home to bed. I've never known pain like it.
Last category and most hardest; Men. At this point I'll take a pause and have a nap.
