13th - 16th February 1998

Friday 13th February
Got up quite early so I could call in sick.  Then I cleaned the kitchen and prepared to go in for my interview.  Claire is still really ill and got some Dimetapp so she was pretty tapped out.  I was going to go and open a bank account but it closed at 3pm and I wasn't going into town until 5pm.  So I went to hitch at 4 expecting it to take a while and got a hitch within a couple of minutes so then I had 50 minutes to kill until my interview.  I wandered around for a bit and then decided to be 15 minutes early.  While I was waiting I read about the job and decided I was wasting their time.  It said you had to be an intermediate skier or better as you had to ski to and from the gondola with some of the food. Anyway the interview went quite well and I was pleased, even though I know I wouldn't get the job.  I've got to call back tomorrow.

Saturday 14th February
Valentine's Day!  Work was mad today I was on cash from 9:30-3 and I didn't stop scanning the whole time.  There was a queue of men when we opened, they all bought cards and chocolates.

Sunday 15th February
Work again.  The woman from the hairdressers came in again and is going to call this evening.  I went to Darren's in the evening we were going to watch "To Die For" and "My Best Friends Wedding" but X files was on instead.
The hairdresser called and after much confusion over which Katie I booked my haircut for tomorrow at 10am.

Monday 16th February
I got lots of stuff done today.  Went for my haircut at 10am.  Darren had set the video for Price is Right but Mark messed up the cable so we didn't get to see it.  My hair took 2 hours - it was only her fifth haircut - only an inch off.  Then to Pharmasave to get some postcards - at cost!  Then up to meet Darren for lunch - a free lunch at that.  I saw in Darren's cafe until 2:45pm writing my postcards and then it was down to TD Bank to open my account.  Then meet Darren in Grabba Jabba.  I lost my Toonie under the collar and nicked a mug.  We went to IGA and Darren bought some ingredients to make a Spag Bol for me.  We got the bus together and when back to my place.  I delivered Claire her cookies from Bruce and got my stuff together to stay at Darren's again.  We had beer and watched "Ally McBeal" and then Dan brought "The Clockwork Orange" - very strange and disturbing.
