Dave went to Ontario today and we didn't go with him.
We met Aaron today or rather he met us. We were going to the bank and he noticed us, because I'd described us as a tall brunette with a small blonde he was trying to catch up with us and listen to our accents. He shouted our names and we wondered who the hell he was but he turned out to be "super" nice. We went for coffee at the Coffee Pod and then back to his place, i.e. a shack in the trucking company's parking lot. He's cooking us dinner something and even offered us a place to stay. We're still trying to work out how old he is, we think either 24 or 25. Anyway, he's going to call tomorrow and we're doing stuff at the weekend hopefully.
Wednesday 13th August
Work again. Then we had a leisurely ice-cream which was paid for from our tips. Aaron called so we went up to his place and sat and chatted again. The weather seems to have turned and the past 2 days have been so misty it has been quite impossible to do anything on the water and useless to go anywhere with a view. We have a few more trails to do though so they don't necessarily need nice views. We had a really lazy evening; finishing our spag bol, reading and having a bath. I even finally got around to shaving my legs.
Thursday 14th August
This afternoon we were lucky once again and we had a really nice guy pick us up and take us to Combers beach. We had noticed the same guy yesterday at the Munch Box. He works as a head-waiter at the Tin-Wis resort and his name is Brandon or Brendon? He took us to the beach and went on the trial with us. He's invited us to a hike on Meares Island on Saturday up to Lone Cone so we're going to ask to end work early. We also went to Radar Hill with him and his friend Ken. He got a parking ticket because he gave Ken his permit. We have to go back to Radar Hill because I didn't take my camera with me.
This evening we had a mushroom soup/pasta combo along with pudding! Blackberry, apple and cornflakes. Kelly invited us out to the Sandbar, so we went, although we didn't leave until 10:15pm. We met lots of new people but I felt really tired so left quite early, about midnight. Claire stayed. She enjoys meeting lots of new people and I wasn't feeling at my most confident self. At least we're getting to meet some people though.
