Everyone kind of emerged at about 9 this morning after much ringing of the telephone. We spent most of the day recovering from the heady excesses of last night. We went out for breakfast and then all sat around. At about 3pm we all decided to go into the village with Katie to ask about jobs. We sat in Second Cup for a while and also went to the Mountain and set up interviews for tomorrow. We were all supposed to be meeting at 6:30pm to go and see the Titanic (again), so in the meantime we went to the brewhouse and had half-price pizzas. Unfortunately Titanic was sold out so we went home and had quite an early night.
Wednesday 28th January
Called my Mum and Dad today to say that we'd finally finished our journey and were here to stay. I didn't talk for very long as we were going into the village to have our interviews and then to the Chateau and every other shop around. A lot of people told us to come back tomorrow or another day. We went home quite early and joined the lads at Dusty's for Acres-Ski. Claire played pool with some Kiwis and their Glaswegian friend, which one of them ended up having a fight with. We went to the lads house after Dusty's to watch "Return of the Jedi".
Thursday 29th January
Apparently last night the woman from Pharmasave called and was following me around Creekside to interview me for a job. She finally caught up with me this morning and after a series of questions including height and weight she gave me the job! Claire had to be in the village at 10am to speak to Cows so I went in with her and picked up my schedule...I start tomorrow at 9:30am! and I get a really sexy uniform! Cows didn't have much to say to Claire and she was told to come back on Saturday. We went back to the house and didn't do much for the rest of the day. As we were so last we really wanted to go out this evening so we went to Garfinkels. It was just me, Claire, Rob, Chris, Catherine and James and Darren turned up later.
Friday 30th January
First day at work - knackered and hung over - a good way to start! A girl called Bonnie was training me. she was very nice but had a bit of an attitude - basically she's super cool. I was on cash from 9:30-3 with 10 minute breaks at 10 and 3 and 30mins lunch at 12:30. I think I did OK on the till. I hope I wasn't too thick. Claire and Rob came and visited at 3ish and Claire said she'd been offered a job at Pharmasave too. I only handed in her CV this morning. The woman gave her the 3rd degree about height, weight etc and Kindly offered her a job. Claire informed her that she had other people to talk to and that she'd be in touch. After work I hitched home with an old bloke in a BMW! Very dodgy(?). The evening was spent dodging elastic band fights between Rob, Andy, Rich, Matt and James.
