18th - 22nd January 1998

Sunday 18th January
More of the Columbia River Gorge and a replica of Stone Henge.  In the middle of Washington and actual, life size, replica of Stone Henge!  We went back into Oregon and called Bruce who told us which way to go to get to Pullman.  Almost there!  We were the tourist attraction in a really small village while we had dinner and then it certainly was "Next Stop Pullman".  We got to Pullman at 3pm.  We went to the pub twice - second time after Claire got her ID.  We had one drink and then went home.

Monday 19th January
Martin Luther King Junior Day.  Got up obscenely late and then went around WSU campus.  Then did washing, went to the "STU" and had pizza.

Tuesday 20th January
Went around town and bought some Friends postcodes.  Since I've been here I've had messages from Kev "I love you and miss you" and little Andy "When are you coming home because I'm fed up of getting postcards and I want to talk to you properly".  What's happening to everyone?  I called Aaron who said yet again that he might not be in Tofino when I get there.  I'm trying not to think about it too hard as his plans change daily but even so it gets me upset.   Aaron asked me if I'd changed since travelling.  I told him that I think I changed in Tofino - that was largely due to him.  Aaron gave me confidence and security.
In the evening we went to watch Bruce in an Intramural basketball match.  Then we came home and made cookies.

Wednesday 21st January
Called Mum today and sorted out insurance.  Then Claire and I went to Idaho.  We went thrift store shopping and I bought a bra at JC Pennys and a giraffe Beanie Baby for Sharon's Birthday.
I think tonight we're going to the cinema to see "7 Years in Tibet". It should only be $3.

Thursday 22nd January
We did go and see "7 Years in Tibet" which was quite good and not as serious as I thought it would be.  This morning we went up to the university and Claire found some ski gear in this Thrift store then up to Bookie to meet Bruce.  Then we went and got a new dimmer switch at NAPA and then for a driving tour around Pullman.  This evening was the big night out, so after Friends and Seinfeld we went downtown.  First to a Mexican place where we had cocktails and then to Rico's where I got beer poured down my neck and was talking to one bloke about the state of the British Music scene.  Then home to bed.
