Aaron got in quite early again and we chatted for a while. We got on really well yesterday, it's strange. We got up really late, 1:40pm, and we made pancakes for breakfast/lunch. After, I went to see Claire and Al who were down on Main Street where Al was moving house. I helped them for a bit and then I went to LA Grocery and Movies & Munchies for lottery and VCR. Unfortunately the VCR hasn't been brought back from last night yet and we're not allowed to reserve it so we have to keep popping back and checking. I took Claire and Al to the Co-Op and then I went and saw Chatal at the Beer & Wine. It was really nice to see her again and she gave me a Vancouver Island Brewery banner to put up in the van. Sister was waiting outside the shop and thought I was taking her with me, I think she was a bit disappointed when she found out the truth. I don't know what we'll do tonight if we don't get a VCR.
We didn't manage to get a VCR so Aaron had this bright idea to go to a motel and watch tv. We called a few places and picked the cheapest which was the Dolphin Motel at $40. Unfortunately it was so cheap that the cable was crap so Aaron wasn't very happy. And to top things off the Pizza place was shut. So we went to LA Grocery and the Beer & Wine Store and got lots of crap food and beer and when back to the motel.
Sunday 2nd November
We woke up at the model at about 9am. The power was out so it was really cold. We got up pretty quickly and left as the place was miserable. We came back to the shack and waited the 40 odd minutes for the power to go back on.
The power went back on as promised at 11am and we just sat around complaining about the misery that was yesterday. I was due to meet Claire at 1pm when we were supposed to be changing the tyres. Alex hadn't turned up with the van so we didn't know quite what to do. We did our laundry and I finally got the photo taken of me in the Beer & Wine store and then we went to our respected abodes.
Aaron and I had a really good evening. I helped him with his essay by typing it out for him, then I made dinner - Spaghetti, and we just chatted whilst I played on the computer and he read the Globe and Mail.
Monday 3rd November
I got up really early, 8:30am, as this was the day when we were leaving. I jumped in the shower and then called my Mum. It was nice to talk to her again and I do kind of miss her. I then went to Claire's. The van was going to get fixed this morning and should be ready by 12. Unfortunately it wasn't. The power steering wasn't broken, in actual fact it was the hose (?). This meant a new part and thus no departure today. We took Sister for a walk down on Cox Bay and then decided to cook our men a hearty British dinner, Bangers and Mash. This went down well and Aaron happily went to work. Sally called and wanted to know if we could give her a lift to Banff. He friend and he will pay for Gas but they can't leave until Friday or Saturday. I said I'd have to talk to Claire, I don't think she'll go for it as it puts us behind our schedule and we have her cousin to consider as well. But the money would be useful!
