89 days to go

It's been a while since my last blog.  Largely due to being busy at work and at home and not really sure what to say.  Maybe I've lost my voice of sorts?

I started to think why do I have this blog?

I don't write it for others to read.  I guess that's pretty odd as it's a blog open to the world.  But the truth is I've enjoyed writing a diary (in various formats) over the years.  I recently found a diary that I wrote during my A levels and had such a laugh re-reading it.  I have about 5 exercise books with Claire and mine's travels around Canada and the US and I know I will always treasure them as they transport me right back to (amongst other places) sleeping in a McDonald's car park somewhere in North America.  My travels in Australia were largely documented by emails back home and I still have every single one.
So I guess one day I will look back at this blog and relive the months leading up to my wedding.  Maybe I can even share it with my daughter when she marries.  Do you think I'll still be able to access this blog then?  Maybe I should print it out just in case?! :-)

Right, what's happened in the last month, wedding wise.

  • Well, I've had my dress fitting.  It was so nice to finally wear the dress with it fitting me (albeit with many pins).  I took Dom's Mum with me and she really enjoyed being part of the girly side of the wedding (having two sons and no daughters).  So now I have to not loose too much weight and definitely not put on or get pregnant!
  • My friend, Angie, has started on our invites and they look lovely.
  • I found a lady who makes stunning bridal headpieces and veils and she's custom made something for me.  I have my hair trial next week and can't wait to try it on.
  • We've paid off our honeymoon.  There are so many plans for the wedding that it's hard to also think we have to plan to go on holiday only 3 days later.  I wonder if we'll get upgraded?  With the wedding and the honeymoon we'll be away from home for around 2 weeks which means we had to find a cattery for Jet and Jack.  We were recommended denmeadcattery.co.uk and yesterday we checked it out.  I think Jet and Jack will be very happy there and will enjoy their holiday as much as we will.

So, not long to go now, only 3 months.  How did we get here so soon?

Next week we're off to Devon and have loads of wedding stuff to do (along with Mum's 60th Birthday). Mum's personal shopping session for her Mother of the Bride outfit, Hair and makeup trials, meet florist, photographer and registrar, choose vows and readings, have first facial and final dress fitting. Phew!  It certainly beats working the week.
