That Cinderella moment

This recent weekend was a busy one for wedding plans.  We designed our wedding favours/place names, booked our honeymoon, made a start on our gift list, discussed plan for post wedding celebration and agreed design for wedding invitations.  Oh and also there's the aforementioned Cinderella moment - more of that later.
Phew - I'm exhausted just thinking about it all!

Our wedding favours are quite extravagant when you compare them to most but they do have the advantage of doubling as place names so we do safe somewhere.  I'm not going to say much more as I'll ruin the surprise for those coming to the wedding.

Booking our honeymoon was probably the lowest point of the weekend strangely. We finally decided on an Alaskan cruise and having looked at all available around the time we want to go found the perfect package - 9 days - Seattle - Anchorage - Vancouver leaving Heathrow on 07 June, the day after we return from Devon.  I suppose we could have bought it online however we were under the assumption that a travel agent would have loads of information about the boat, the cruise, the sights what's included, what isn't etc.  In fact the only plus side of the travel agent was the 10% off and the cup of coffee I had while we were there.  They didn't have a brochure, couldn't tell us where best to choose our cabin, no info about the cruise itself or the flight times!  Despite all this we booked it today and paid our deposit.  So that's it - we'll soon be off on a big, chilly boat! :-)

My Flower-girl's Mum also happens to be a graphic designer and so, to save cash, we asked if she fancied making our invitations as a wedding present.  Thankfully she agreed so we had our first "design meeting" yesterday.  We also took the opportunity for my Flower-girl to try on the shoes that I mentioned in last week's blog.  I bought the largest size, size 9, from a website that I knew I could get a full refund if they didn't fit.  And so we had the Cinderella moment.  The shoes have a velcro slingback heel but unfortunately they are already too small. :-(  Such a pity.  For the Flower-girl too.  She would have been the toast of school with her very own Vivienne Westwoods.  And SHE got brand new ones whereas myself and my best woman are making do with second-hand from ebay.  Anyway - back they go. No Foul No Harm.  All keep a lookout for pale blue ballet shoes.  I figure we can make a felt heart and pin it on.

  1. An Alaskan cruise sounds nice & relaxing; I imagine the scenery will be lovely. You had to give up hope of Dom passing his test to do a Fly-Drive though?
